New iOS 6 is all set to introduce more than 200 new features over the existing iOS 5. Indications of these changes were first showcased in June 2012 during Apple’s International Developers Conference. The second iOS 6 beta version was made available for the coders and developers within few weeks of the event.
Glimpses of iOS 6 Features And Enhancements
iOS 6 claims to have more than 200 new features that will make your daily tasks and routine handling of the device better and simple. The major updates include better integration with Facebook, introduction of new applications like Passbook and Apple Maps. Passbook is a nice travel utility that will organize all your passes like boarding, coupons and tickets at one place.
There are few deletions in the software applications as well. You will find YouTube and Google maps missing on iOS 6. However, Apple has made enhancements to SIRI, which also better integrates with Facebook now. You can update your status just with the help of voice commands. You may even get the latest scores update and launch applications with your voice. FaceTime users need not jailbreak their iOS device to access video calling over 3G networks now. Apple has configured FaceTime to work on 3G network from iOS 6.
iOS 6 also enhances your calling capabilities. The phone application is now equipped with utility reminders such as call back, sending messages instead of placing a call.
And, if you are one of those gentlemen who do not want to be disturbed during a meeting, Apple has pumped in a DO NOT DISTURB feature. When enabled, this feature will not show any notifications.
The new iOS 6 is available as a default Operating System in iPhone 5. Other supported iOS device users will have to upgrade their iOS versions when the download link is up on September 19th, 2012.
